Staff members from the offices of US Senator Elizabeth Warren and US Representative Edward Markey will hold joint office hours from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. this Friday, April 5, in Framingham.

The staff members will also be joined by various state legislators, including state Senator Karen Spilka and state Representatives Tom Sannicandro, Chris Walsh, and staff from state Representative Tom Conroy's office.

Office hours will take place at Markey's Framingham office, located next to Town Hall at 188 Concord St., suite 102.

Constituents will have the opportunity to discuss concerns they have on state and federal issues. Members of Warren’s and Markey’s staff will be available to assist residents with issues pending before a federal agency, including the Department of Veterans Affairs, Medicare, Social Security, the US citizenship and immigration services, and others.

No appointment is necessary.

Markey is running against US Representative Stephen Lynch for the US Senate seat vacated by John Kerry, who left to become secretary of state. The special state primary election is slated for April 30.

Representatives from Warren's office said the freshman senator has not made an endorsement of either candidate, and that the joint office hours in Framingham is not a campaign event.

"These office hours are a great way for people to share their concerns about what’s happening in Washington or to ask for assistance with the federal government,” Warren said in a statement. “This is a chance for us to hear from local residents about the issues that matter to them, so I can best represent Massachusetts families in the U.S. Senate.”

"My staff looks forward to meeting with constituents in Framingham and to helping them with any issue they may have with a federal agency," Markey said.

For more information about office hours, contact Markey's Framingham office at 508-875-2900. The office is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
