The Hingham School Committee has moved its meeting Monday night to a larger room because a crowd is expected to discuss the naming of the Galo Elementary School.
The meeting will be in the central meeting room, second floor of town hall, instead of the School Department conference room where meetings are usually held. The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m.
Members changed the meeting location because the first item on the agenda will be a residents' request asking the board to reconsider its vote to name the new elementary school after Superintendent Dorothy "Dot" Galo.
Residents opposing the new name want the board to keep the school's original name, East Elementary School. They have argued that the committee made its decision without adequate input from the community.
Opponents have said if the board does not reconsider its vote, they have gathered enough signatures to force a special Town Meeting that would let residents decide the name of the school.
