Enchanted mural at Hingham school

When South Elementary School students returned this fall and climbed the stairs to the second floor, they were greeted by a colorful and whimsical mural of enchanted butterflies and forests.
Nora Creahan, 24, a Hingham High graduate, painted the mural last June and had not completed the project by the time school ended for summer recess.
"It was so great to do something for the kids in the town I grew up in," Creahan said in a telephone interview.
Creahan said it took her about a week to paint the mural and enjoyed talking to students as they walked by gave her curious looks. "They were so much fun," Creahan said.
Creahan teaches ceramics at Nobles & Greenough Academy in Dedham and was in artist-in-residence at Cub Creek Foundation for the Ceramic Arts in Appomattox, Va. She has a bachelor's from Syracuse University in Fine Arts.
