Such familiar characters as Alice, the Mad Hatter, and the White Rabbit will be on stage this Sunday, when sixth graders from Derby Academy in Hingham stage a fund-raiser for a Quincy-based charity. "Alice in Wonderland Junior," based on a 1951 Disney film and the novels by Lewis Carroll, is directed by Derby drama teacher Thalia McMillion, and dance teacher Christine Beniers is the musical director and choreographer. Sets were created by Derby's seventh and eight grade students under the direction of teachers Adam Norcott and Nancy Donovan.
The peformance starts at 4 p.m. at Derby's Larson Hall, 56 Burditt Ave. Admission is free, with a suggested donation of $5, which will be given to Cradles to Crayons, a Quincy-based group that supplies clothing and other basic needs to homeless children.
