INTERFAITH SOCIAL SERVICES

Ninth Annual Golf Tournament
June 7
South Shore Country Club, Hingham
$150 per golfer
Reservation deadline May 26

“Traditionally the tournament has brought together golfers from all over New England.” said Interfaith’s executive director, Rick Doane. “But in this financial climate it has become harder and harder to recruit golfers for the tournament. We hope that this year we will see an outpouring of support from the community, because frankly we are serving more people than ever before, and we need the community’s support to maintain our programs.”

The event includes a round of golf, as well as a BBQ dinner catered by Raffael’s, a silent auction, and a raffle. There will also be a number of giveaways, door prizes and various games including longest drive, closest to the pin and a putting contest.

Call 617-773-6203 for a registration form or register online.

Interfaith Social Services has been serving the area since 1947, with such programs as the Pantry Shelf food program, which distributed food to 16,000 impoverished individuals last year; The New Directions Counseling Center; the Career Closet, which provides workplace attire for low-income job seekers; the Bureau Drawer Thrift Shop, a volunteer-run outlet that provides customers with an affordable option for clothing and household items; and HomeSafe, a homelessness prevention and financial assistance program.
