Police are investigating a single-car crash that killed one man on Cushing Street in Hingham at 7:23 a.m. today.

According to Police Chief Mike Peraino, the police department received several calls from motorists that a 2001 Mazda Protégé had driven off the road without stopping and had flipped over.

When police arrived at the scene, they found the Dean Simmon, 64, from Rindge, N.H., deceased. He was not wearing a seatbelt, police said.

Hingham Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene when they arrived. According to police, the man possibly had a medical condition that may have preceded the crash.

Cushing Street was closed for three hours from Whiting Street to Old Country Road while State Police Crash Reconstruction Team and Hingham Police Department Reconstruction officers investigated the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Hingham Police Department.
