Braintree Scanner Tales: Holbrook woman found asleep behind wheel of running car
A Holbrook woman was arrested early Sunday morning after allegedly driving under the influence.
According to police, officers found her asleep at the wheel of her car while stopped at the traffic light at the intersection of Hancock and Plain Streets.
A passing motorist called police after seeing the car sit through several light changes.
When officers arrived, they found the suspect slumped over the wheel with the engine running. Officers could smell an odor of alcohol, and after waking the suspect, made other observations of possible intoxication.
Cynthia J. Luyo, 28, of Holbrook, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol. She later took a breath test, which showed a reading almost twice the legal limit.
The legal limit is .08 percent.
