Nearly 700 students, sfaffers and teachers of Notre Dame Academy in Hingham assembled on the front field Friday to kick off the school's 160th anniversary.

The school photographer from Lifetouch stood on a hydraulic lift and photographed the crowd standing in the shape of 1-6-0. Instead of wearing school uniforms, students donned their class colors: red for seniors, blue for juniors, green for sophomores, and yellow for freshmen.

The school was founded in Boston's North End by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in 1853. According to the Notre Dame website, the school operated in several locations in Boston over the years, then moved to Hingham in 1965.
