Hingham Police are looking for two young men accused of breaking into a car.

According to police, residents of a Beach Lane home were woken up by a driveway sensor motion alarm at 3:12 a.m. Tuesday.

Two of the residents went outside to investigate and found two males inside a family member’s unlocked vehicle in the driveway. The residents attempted to detain the two suspects, but they ran away.

Officers arrived soon afterwards with a police dog, which tracked the suspects' scent to the water of the shipyard area.

The suspects were described as white, younger males, approximately 5’6” tall and wearing dark-colored winter clothing.

Police are asking for help finding the suspects. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Officer Michael Gervasi at 781-749-1212.

Police added that victims shouldn’t confront suspects and reminded residents to always lock their cars.
