Hyde Park voters overwhelmingly chose to reelect Barack Obama Tuesday, and to send Democrat Elizabeth Warren to the US Senate.

Obama received 12,490 votes in the neighborhood, nearly six times as many as the 2,166 votes for Republican challenger Mitt Romney, according to preliminary results compiled by the Globe.

A similar breakdown prevailed in the US Senate race, where challenger Warren received 11,915 votes in Hyde Park, while Republican incumbent US Senator Scott Brown received 2,823.
