The Academy of the Pacific Rim Charter Public School has rescheduled its annual Chinese New Year celebration, delayed by the blizzard that shut down the city on the second weekend in February.

The fund-raising event for the school, originally planned for Feb. 8, will take place from 6 – 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, unless severe weather strikes again. The school will hold the event at the Hei La Moon Restaurant at 88 Beach St. in the Leather District.

The charter school, which integrates Asian teaching methods into its curriculum and requires that all students in grades 7 – 12 study Mandarin, hosts the dinner each Chinese New Year as a benefit for its Chinese language and culture program.
