For the second year in a row, Hyde Park Post 78 will play in the American Legion District 6 semifinals, this time against Walpole Post 104, after beating Norwood in the same game last year.

Walpole's Eldracher Field at Bird Middle School will play host to the game, slated for Sunday at 4 p.m and unlike regular-season seven-inning games, it will last nine.

The winner of the matchup will represent the district in the national-bound tournament at Holy Cross in Worcester, beginning this Thursday, against Central Massachusetts' first place team.

While Walpole had its seeding secured with a 5-4 win against Norfolk on July 3, Hyde Park clinched its spot in an 11-7 victory over Weymouth Post 79 on Friday night, overtaking Braintree Post 86, which had been in first place for most of the season.

Post 86 crushed Cohasset Post 118, 13-4, on the same night, but only would have earned a berth in the playoffs had Hyde Park lost.
