North End resident’s handmade beeswax candles ship all over US, worldBy day Ann Moritz runs a consulting business. By evening she’s a honey beeswax chandler. For decades, Moritz had been making candles with the traditional candle wax but it wasn’t until about six years ago, when she moved in to the North End, that she started using honey beeswax.
South End resident opens kitchenware, cooking store on Shawmut Ave. On the corner of Shawmut Ave. and Milford St. sits a brightly lit, open-floor-plan shop. Vintage cookbooks line the walls and copper pans sit atop an old stove. Farm and Fable opened in November of last year and has been selling kitchenware and hosting cooking classes, private events, and tastings in its downstairs “cooking classroom” ever since.
