A local cooperative grocer said it hopes to open two new stores at proposed development sites in the Fenway and Jamaica Plain neighborhoods.

Harvest Co-op Market, with existing locations in Cambridge and Jamaica Plain, says it “has been selected to participate in two new development projects … as the ‘anchor’ retailer for the Fenway Project, a green development occurring in the Fenway [and] the grocer for the Arboretum Project, a development near the Forest Hills MBTA stop.”

The announcement, posted on the co-op’s website and first reported by the Jamaica Plain Gazette, adds that “while we have signed letters of intent for both projects, neither is certain.

“The developers selected Harvest because of our excellent reputation in the metro-Boston area for our high-quality and healthy foods, our many years of community involvement and our commitment to environmental stewardship,” the announcement from board president Christina Lively says.

A communication official for the grocer referred comment to Harvest’s general manager who was not immediately available.
