The second-annual "State of our Neighborhood" forum will be held next month at English High School.

Local elected officials, including State Sen. Sonia Chang-Díaz, State Representatives Liz Malia and Jeffrey Sánchez, City Councilor Matt O'Malley and At-large Councilor Felix Arroyo, have been invited to attend the event that will focus on neighborhood priorities, according to an announcement from the Jamaica Plain Forum, a program of the The First Church in Jamaica Plain, Unitarian Universalist. David Baron, chair of the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council’s zoning subgroup, will moderate the forum.

“What future do we want for JP?,” asks an announcement promoting the event, “What do we want our neighborhood to be like in 5 years? 10 years? 15 years? How do we create community resilience in the face of deepening ecological and economic disruption?

The meeting is set for Feb. 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. A snow date has been scheduled for Feb. 16.

The evening will feature a question and answer session along with an opportunity to gather in small groups and discuss specific topics.

Co-sponsors of the forum will have tables set-up to distribute materials and announcements. Refreshments and coffee will be provided. The Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation will provide simultaneous Spanish translation.
