State Rep. Jeffrey Sanchez names new liaison to Jamaica Plain, Roslindale
State Representative Jeffrey Sánchez has named a new legislative aide to serve as the liaison to Jamaica Plain and Roslindale.
Michael Baker will handle constituent issues from those two Boston neighborhoods, according to Sánchez’s office. His job entails frequently visiting the communities, assisting residents, helping with legislation and planning neighborhood events.
“I am excited for this opportunity, I really think I can make a difference for the people of Jamaica Plain and Roslindale,” Michael Baker said in a press release from the legilsator’s office. “I have always strived to better myself and my community and I’ll bring this energy and drive to the 15th Suffolk district.”
The 23-year-old has interned for two different legislators over the past year, first with State Representative Sean Garballey from his hometown of Arlington, then for State Representative Mark Cusack, of Braintree, officials said.
Baker earned a bachelor’s degree in communications at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and will be taking the LSAT this October in hopes of going to law school in the near future, according to the release.
“I’m very excited to have Michael start with us,” Sánchez said in a statement. “He is a caring and passionate person who will be an asset to our community.”
