A surveillance video shows a stabbing suspect chasing his victim moments after an attack in Jamaica Plain on Monday night, according to Boston Police, who are asking for the public's help to identify the suspect.

The victim suffered multiple stab wounds and was transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital with what police described as non-life threatening injuries.

The stabbing happened shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Monday in the area of 200 Heath St., according to police.

The suspect was described by police as a white male, about 6 feet tall, weighing 200 pounds, wearing a blue shirt, a black baseball cap with a white emblem on the front, black sneakers and denim shorts.

The suspect ran toward Heath Street and South Huntington Avenue, police said.

The surveillance footage “appears to show the point where the suspect stops chasing the victim and turns around to flee the area,” said police, who released the video.

Authorities ask that anyone with information call detectives at the District E-13 station in Jamaica Plain at 617-343-5628. Information can also be provided to police anonymously by calling the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1-800-494- TIPS (8477) or by texting the word ‘TIP’ to CRIME (27463).
