The local League of Women Voters chapter will hold a forum Friday about what drives the school system’s budget, which represents the largest portion of the town’s spending each year.

Lined up as panelists for the forum are Thomas Plati, the school district’s director of educational technology and assessment; Linda Chase, its director of student services; and Patrick Goddard, the town’s director of public facilities.

The session will open the league’s annual slate of "First Friday Forums," focusing on public policy issues facing the community. The forum will begin at 9:45 a.m., and coffee will be available at 9:30 a.m., at Cary Memorial Library, 1874 Massachusetts Ave.
