The final list of candidates for Lexington’s Town Election was set this week, and there will not be a contested race for the Board of Selectmen.

Selectman George Burnell is not running for a third term on the board, leaving Selectwoman Deborah Mauger and newcomer Joseph Pato as the only candidates in the race for two selectmen seats, according to the Town Clerk's office.

Pato is a Town Meeting member and former member of Lexington’s Appropriation Committee that advises the town and Town Meeting on fiscal matters.

The last day for the candidates to withdraw from the race was Wednesday, Jan. 30. The election will be held on March 4.

In the race for two School Committee seats, incumbents Alessandro Alessandrini and Margaret Coppe will not face any challengers in their bids for re-election.

In other townwide races, incumbent Town Moderator Deborah Brown will run uncontested for re-election, and two newcomers, Nancy Corcoran-Ronchetti, and Richard McDonough, will challenge each other for one open seat on the Planning Board.

Tuesday, Feb. 12, is the last day to register to vote in the town election.
