The Seventh Annual Malden Sketch Group Exhibition, the largest ever, is currently on display at Commerce Place, 350 Main St. in Malden.
Sponsored by Preotle Lane & Associates, the exhibit will run until July 17 during lobby hours Monday through Friday 9-6 and Saturday 9-1.

Thirty artists from 12 communities -- Andover, Burlington, Hudson, Lynnfield, Malden, Medford, Melrose, North Reading, Reading, Wakefield, Wilmington, and Woburn -- are represented in the Commerce Place exhibit. Their work includes paintings, drawings, collage and etchings.

The Malden Sketch Group is one of the longest-running drawing groups in the Boston area. Members of the group drop in Mondays and Thursdays at Oak Grove Community Center in Malden from 7-9:30, Monday for life drawing, Thursdays for portrait drawing. The group consists of full-time professional artists all the way to enthusiastic beginners. No instruction is given but an atmosphere of support and encouragement prevails. A $6 model fee is collected each session.
