Voters will narrow the field of candidates for three at-large seats on the City Council in Tuesday’s preliminary election, as well as the Ward 5 seat held by Councilor John Furlong, who is not seeking reelection.

The Ward 5 candidates are Andrew J. Brown, Nekita Lamour, and Barbara M. Murphy. Two candidates will advance to the general election on Nov. 3.

The at-large candidates are incumbents Gregory Lucey and Craig Spadafora, plus challengers David D’Arcangelo, Jeffrey Allen Donahue, Deborah Fallon, Brian F. O’Boyle, Augustine Paolini Jr., and John D. Torosian. The top six vote-getters will advance to the general election.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday. Residents can contact City Hall for information on polling places.

  1. We wish everyone success on Tuesday as the weather should cooperate for the voters.

Here's our recent blog post: maldentaxdotblogspotdotcom/2009/09/facts-about-trash-tax.html

We want to also thank the people that contacted some of elected officials to ask about the status of the ballot question. When we receive it, the City's Solicitor mentions it should be ready by this week, we'll relay that information on to you.

Have a great week and get out to vote!
