The Malden High varsity field hockey team ended its season by defeating Revere, 3-1. All of the hard practice throughout the season paid off for the final game. The team executed outstanding passes and set up dazzling plays on the offensive end throughout the game.

Casey Willcox and Christina Valente had some great shots on net, but the Revere goalie prevailed. Sophomore Rebecca Krigman scored the first two goals of the game in the first half. Revere put the heat on in the second half, scoring a goal to close up the gap.

Malden rallied to score another goal by senior captain Marissa Gould to cinch the win. Kylee Castrini and Nikita Ricci got their job done for the team and kept the ball out of the Malden’s defensive end.

Junior goalie Shannon Howe had some exceptional saves throughout the game. It was a great game to end the final season for seniors Casey Willcox, Cristina Valente, Kylee Castrini, Nikita Ricci, and captains Jillian Dervishian and Marissa Gould.

The JV girls' field hockey team ended their season last Monday night with a 2-1 win over Revere. Elyse Valente scored both goals; one in the first half and then her second in the second half with only three minutes left in the game to lead the Tornadoes to the win.

The defense was led by goalie Jessalyne Brown, who did an outstanding job in the net all year. Jenna Johnson and Amanda Ramsey also did a great job on defense during the game. The offense was led by the outstanding hustle of Rebecca Silva, Catherine Porier, and Bridget Furlong.

"The girls just played the game of field hockey so well tonight. Everyone on the team contributed so much; they were passing, dodging, shooting and scoring. It is so nice to end the season with such a successful win" said Coach Barber.
