The following is a press release from the Malden Rotary Club:

The Malden Rotary Club will hold the Seventh Annual St. Patrick’s Road Race on Sunday March 14, 2010.  This year’s race has been dedicated to two long-time Malden Rotarians Charles Kelley and Warren Jackson and will feature two race courses, 5K & 10K, that have been certified by USA Track & Field, USATF.

This year’s event, which is again sponsored by Danversbank and hosted by the Dockside Restaurant, is expected to be a major attraction because both race courses are now USATF certified.  Hundreds of runners are expected to take part in the races that will begin at 11:00am at the corner of Main and Ferry Streets.

Runners can register online at www.runreg.com, or call contact Virginia Bowen at 781 842-1950 for a Runner’s Registration Form.  Race day registration will take place at 10:00 AM with the race(s) start time at 11:00 AM.  The first 300 runners to register will receive a free race day T-Shirt.  The Dockside restaurant will host the post-race awards ceremony, which will be held immediately following the race.

As longtime friends and Rotarians Charles Kelley and Warren Jackson are being honored by the Malden Rotary Club for their longtime dedication to Malden Rotary and its mission of Service Above Self.

“These were two guys who would do anything for you and it is fitting to remember them this way,” stated longtime friend and Rotarian Arthur Kahn who went further to say, “Both Charlie and Warren were very charitable men and they were also very dear friends. We miss them but hold our memories of them close and both the Kelley and Jackson families continue with their Fathers’ footsteps with their wonderful community involvement.”

For over 80 years the Malden Rotary Club has been servicing the charitable needs of our community.  100% of the net proceeds from this event will help support The Malden Rotary Club and its mission of Service Above Self.  To learn more visit www.maldenrotary.org.
