Police make arrests for drugs, failing to register as sex offender

Police in Malden made arrests last week for alleged incidents of assault and battery, drug possession, and in one case, for a suspect's failure to register as a sex offender. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Suspects' names are released as a matter of public record.

Norman Michaud, 54, of 71 Cedar St. in Malden, was arrested Nov. 22 on his third shoplifting offense, according to police records.

Police arrested Robert Johnson, 41, of 630 Salem St. in Malden, Nov. 24 on one charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Luis Flores-Lopez, 38, of 26 Endicott St. in Lynn, was arrested Nov. 24 for alleged possession of a class A substance with intent to distribute.

Officers arrested Christopher Hunt, 26, of 69 Cedar St. in Malden, for failing to register as a sex offender.

Police responded to the rear of 221 Washington St. for a report of two people shooting drugs in the woods. Officers arrested Joseph Durette, 23, of 129 Rockland Road in Medford, on a subsequent offense charge of possession of a class A substance. Kristina Farrell, 20, of 133 Rock Glen Road in Medford, was arrested on one charge of being present where heroin is kept.

Rosette Phebus, 24, of 125 Alewife Brook Parkway in Somerville, was arrested Nov. 27 on multiple assault charges, stemming from a disturbance call at Anthony's Restaurant, located at 105 Canal St. Phebus was arrested on charges of assault and battery, assault and battery on a police officer, and resisting arrest.

Officers arrested Guang Yu Gao, 29, of 45 Harvard St. in Malden, Nov. 28 on one charge of aggravated assault and battery at 195 Pleasant St.
