Clark honored as Democrat of the Year

Senator Katherine Clark, Joe Lawless, and Attorney General Martha Coakley at the Irish American St. Patrick’s Day breakfast in Malden.

State Senator Katherine Clark received the award for Democrat of the Year at Malden’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast at the Irish American Club. The award from was presented to Senator Clark by last year’s recipient, Attorney General Martha Coakley, on behalf of her outstanding work in the community.
 
“I am honored to receive this recognition from the Malden Democratic City Committee,” said Senator Clark. “It has been an amazing opportunity to represent Malden and the Middlesex and Essex district as a State Senator and I look forward to continuing my work on behalf of these communities.”
 
Past recipients of this award also include Senator John Kerry and the late Senator Edward Kennedy for their contributions as public servants.
 
“This was a unanimous vote by the committee,” said City Committee Chair Joe Lawless. “We were very please to present this award to Senator Clark not only for her previous efforts in the public sector, but also the tremendous promise she brings to the State Senate.”
 
More than 400 attendees from Malden and surrounding communities filled the Irish American Club for the event.
