The following was submitted by Mystic Valley Regional Charter School:

sports awards 012.jpgMystic Valley sophomore Jodel Saimbert (left in photo) of Lynn was recently named the Student Action Service Club Student of the Year. The award is given each year to the club member whose leadership and commitment to volunteerism best exemplify the ideals of Mystic Valley. Nicole Rubin (right in photo), Mystic Valley’s Director of Youth Services stated that “Jodel has been an active member of the SASC since his freshmen year. He was a very dedicated responsible leader.  He completed all of his required hours by October but he still continued to lead the program until it ended in April.”

Rubin added “some of Jodel's responsibilities included leading groups of up to eight students in either a planned art project or a planned gym exercise. Jodel always kept his groups involved and focused on the task at hand.  The students had fun with him and enjoyed having him as their leader.  Jodel was often the classroom supervisor as well. When he was in this role he supervised both the leaders and the participants.”
