Boylston Street fire displaces three Malden families
Three families were displaced by a one-alarm fire Saturday afternoon that began in a second floor bedroom of a triple decker on Boylston Street, the fire department said.
The blaze was reported about 1:50 p.m. at 70 Boylston St., said Malden Fire Chief Michael Murphy in a phone interview.
Murphy said the cause of the fire appears accidental, but the department continues to investigate.
The Eastern Massachusetts chapter of the Red Cross was on scene to assist the displaced residents, Murphy said.
The house is located at the intersection with Henry Street.
