Buses will replace Orange Line subway service between Oak Grove and Sullivan Square on Saturday and Sunday, according to the MBTA.

The shuttle buses, which are accessible for people with disabilities, also will stop at the two stations in between, Malden Center and Wellington Station.

On June 9 and 10, necessary track work is planned for the area, T spokesman Joe Pesaturo said in an e-mail.

As part of the Assembly Square Station Project, weekend work plans call for crews to install new contact rail after removing the old stretch of rail, “to facilitate a new truck pad for easier access,” Pesaturo said.

Work this weekend will also include the swapping of old ties for new ones on the northbound side at Oak Grove as part of that station’s platform project along with other track work in Wellington, Pesatoro said. Vegetation and brush that have been impacting service also will be trimmed back.

For more information, contact the MBTA Customer Communications Department at 617-222-3200 or TTY: 617-222-5146.
