Malden Farmers Market hours extended

Pushed by its growing popularity, the Malden Farmers Market will now stay open until 6:30 p.m., its organizers said.

The weekly Tuesday night gathering of vendors at Malden Government Center has grown since its inception a month ago, said Ted Coates, chair of the Malden Chamber of Commerce.

"Feedback has been extremely positive, however, some locals have complained that the market is closed by the time they get home from work," Coates said.

The new hours will take effect next Tuesday, and will remain in effect until Sept. 18.
