On Thursday, construction planners, engineers, and city officials will discuss a major overhaul of Malden's Pleasant Street.

The construction, slated to begin Aug. 6, will give the corridor an updated look and fresh features, including road resurfacing, brick repairs, new trees and street furniture, decorative lighting, and improved crosswalks.

The work is likely to disrupt business and parking on the downtown strip, and owners of Pleasant Street establishments are invited to hear about the plan and ask questions.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at Government Center.
