The city of Malden will host its final public hearing Monday, for residents to hear details about a proposed resident sticker parking program, and to give city councilors feedback on the plan.

The meeting is slated to begin at 7 p.m. in the Ferryway School Auditorium.

The plan calls for stickers to be distributed for free to current residents who own cars registered in Malden, and who are up to date on their excise tax. A fee would be imposed for new residents moving to the city, and for current residents who buy a new car, or replace the one on which the free stick is attached.

The sticker parking program was one among several proposals by Malden Mayor Gary Christenson, in response to a spate of shootings this summer.
