7-Eleven to lease space next to Dockside in Malden
Convenience store chain 7-Eleven plans to open a new store near the intersection of Medford and Commercial streets, according to an announcement.
The company has agreed to lease a 3,207 square-foot space in the same building as the Dockside restaurant.
"Local workers in the immediate vicinity such as Comcast, Mystic Valley Elder Services, The Malden Evening News, Hopwood Globe, the DPW, and Paradigm Precision will greatly benefit from this convenience," said Greg Regazzini, director of leasing for Combined Properties, said in a statement.
The property owners and 7-Eleven are in the process of requesting a special permit to operate a convenience store in an Industrial zone and to open for extended hours, the announcement said.
The storefront, last home to Brookline Bank, has been vacant since 2008.
