Powerful wind gusts leave scattered outages in Somerville, Malden, Medford, Melrose

Early morning wind gusts recorded up to 74 miles per hour and rain have left a scattering of power outages north of Boston, according to data from utility providers.

The outages, as of 9:45 a.m.: 

In Medford, there were individual outages reported in the Hillside and North Medford neighborhoods, according to utility provider National Grid. A small pocket of homes were without power in Malden near the intersection of Medford Street and Main Street. Less than five outages were reported along Boston Rock Road in Melrose.

There were about 15 outages in Somerville, but NStar, the city's utility provider, does not detail outage locations.
