Malden's Board of Appeals will consider a proposal from a dental office on Highland Avenue that wants to construct a sign there against zoning ordinance.

Stoney Brook Dental is looking to install a free-standing sign at its 445 Highland Ave. office, according to papers filed with the city's Board of Appeals.

Free-standing signs are not allowed in the area, which is classified as a "Residence A" zoning district, according to the city.

The proposal will be considered in a Board of Appeals meeting Thursday, March 21 at 6:30 p.m. at Malden Government Center.
