Senator Katherine Clark (D-5th Middlesex) stands with transportation leaders after she spoke at a State House press conference about the legislation she filed in collaboration with the Transportation for Massachusetts coalition.

The following was submitted by the office of Senator Katherine Clark:

Senator Katherine Clark addressed a large group of legislative, business and community leaders during a State House press conference on March 5 about transportation legislation she recently filed.  The legislation will help guide the conversation around building a transportation system that is equitable, affordable, reliable and financially sound for the long-term.  The bill was developed with Transportation for Massachusetts (T4MA), a diverse coalition of 30 Bay State organizations working to create safe, convenient and affordable transportation choices for everyone.  

Mayor Lisa Wong of Fitchburgechoedbusiness leaders who talked about the connection between transportation investments and economic development and the ways that transportation investments will positively impact communitiesand all Massachusetts residents.  

The T4MA coalition members in attendance included: Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations, Metropolitan Area Planning Council, Neighbor to Neighbor, Massachusetts Public Health Association, MassBike, Massachusetts Smart Growth Alliance, Environmental League of Massachusetts, WalkBoston, Livable Streets Alliance, Alternatives for Community and Environment/T-Riders Union, Environmental Entrepreneurs, Conservation Law Foundation, Massachusetts Public Interest Research Group, Somerville Community Corporation and Stephanie Pollack of Northeastern University/Dukakis Center.
