Hundreds of oxycodone pills and a loaded handgun were found hidden inside a minivan seized in Malden as part of a drug investigation, police said.

Clifton Moore, 49, of Malden faces two counts of trafficking a controlled substance as result of a joint investigation by police in Malden, Woburn, and the Drug Enforcement Agency, Malden police Lieutenant Marc Gatcomb said in an e-mail.

A minivan seized as part of a search warrant in the drug investigation was found to have a hidden compartment beneath the rear seats that could be opened by triggering hidden wires. Gatcomb described it as a "sophisticated hide," and estimated it may have cost as much as $20,000 to install.
