The following was submitted by the Mystic Valley Regional Charter School:

The Mystic Valley boys soccer team picked up another win Friday with a 2-1 over Minuteman Tech. Coach Frank Cypriano said that it was a “very hard fought and physical game but we grinded out the win behind a pair of goals from Scotty Nguyen during the first 17 minutes into the game and then again 10 minutes into the second half after Minuteman had tied it up”. The second goal was all finesse. Minuteman’s goalie came out to block Nguyen’s shot and as he came forward Nguyen lifted a lob over the goalie’s head and into the net on a bounce. Nguyen frustrated Minuteman throughout the game using his expert footwork with the ball to keep Minuteman defenders at bay.

Marouane Missbah had assists on both Eagle goals. Joe Dailey and Chris Poulos had fantastic defensive games for the Eagles in front of Mike Russo-Penta who had a late lead preserving save to ensure the win.

The Eagles lost a non-league game to Austin Prep on Saturday. Their record is now 4-3-1.
