The following was submitted by the Mystic Valley Regional Charter School:

The Mystic Valley boys’ soccer team was knocked out of the MIAA Tournament by Georgetown who won a 6-0 game on Friday afternoon.

Despite the loss first year coach, Frank Cypriano was upbeat after the game: “We had a fantastic season for sure. Making the playoffs with only one senior, our Captain, Joe Daily, is truly something the boys can be proud of. From the first practice of training camp to the final whistle on Friday all the players improved individually and collectively each day. We had players improve so much that they went from no minutes early on to playing important minutes late in the season.

We had three players named CAC all stars on the season; Marrouane Missbah, Scotty Nguyen, and Micahel Russo-Penta. Although I would argue more deserved the recognition as well. Players like defender Chris Poulos, midfielders Gaetano Panza and TJ Flaherty also played huge roles for us throughout the season along with the other starters Gaetano Cerundolo, Demetris Christodoulides and Andrew Schofield.

The team’s motto this season was "together" and because of that unity we got as far as we did when many may have doubted us. Every challenge, that was either issued by me or forced upon them due to circumstance in a game, was met with the entire team rising to the occasion and taking on that challenge head on. Our young team fought every day for everything they earned and that's why I couldn't be prouder of the boys on the Mystic Valley Eagles soccer team.”
