The Mystic Valley girls’ soccer team lost to Winthrop by a score of 3-0 on Tuesday night in the quarterfinal round of the MIAA Tournament. The loss ends what was a surprisingly strong season for the team that was thought to be in a rebuilding year.
After the game, Coach Mike White commented: “I thought we struggled to find our game in the first half. We were working hard, but not focusing on the task at hand. I thought Bryanna Cimetti played her best game of the season and kept us in the game as long as possible. What Bryanna did for this team this year jumping into a position she has never played and playing so well for us all year around was terrific. I could not be happier as a coach. Hannah DiGiovanni did an outstanding job as well moving to and outside fullback position to man mark one of their best players. She was also another reason why we were still in the game at the half. I would like to thank my seniors that I have had the opportunity to coach over the past two seasons for all their hard work and dedication.”
