Marblehead schools ranked in the top 25 districts statewide, according to a recent evaluation by Boston Magazine.

At 24th, ahead of Cambridge Rindge & Latin but behind Brookline, the North Shore community boasts robust sports offerings (56 teams), a high graduation rate (90.4 percent), and a bevy of Advanced Placement courses (15 in all).

The rankings were culled from state standardized test scores measured over time. District officials also were polled for the most specific information.

With 3,206 students, Marblehead's student-teacher ratio is 13.7, below some top districts. Per-pupil spending, at $12,235, is below what some other districts spend.

The ranking places Marblehead in the top 17 percentile of districts, according to the figures.
