JCC in Marblehead celebrates 100th anniversary
JCC of the North Shore
Paul Michael Glaser, of "Starsky and Hutch" TV fame, makes friends with young fan James Dicker of Swampscott.
The following was submitted by the Jewish Community Center of the North Shore:Hundreds of families celebrated the JCC of the North Shore’s 100th anniversary with a weekend of exciting programs featuring Boston native and Hollywood star/author Paul Michael Glaser.
Glaser spoke at a centennial dinner, praising the JCC for a century of impressive community service. The JCC opened 100 years ago in Lynn and quickly became a vibrant gathering place. Now on an 11-acre campus in Marblehead, it continues to thrive with a renowned Early Childhood Center, health and wellness programs, after-school clubs, summer camps, and cultural events.
Glaser also read from his new children’s novel, "Chrystallia and the Source of Light," signing books and connecting with kids.
“The people of the North Shore are lucky to such a wonderful JCC here,” Glaser said. “I’ve had a great time and I wish the J all the best for the next 100 years.”
