51VR+fScKAL.jpgAll are invited to see Boston native and Hollywood actor and author Paul Michael Glaser reading to teenagers from his much-anticipated young adult novel, "Chrystallia and the Source of Light." Glaser will headline a  Community Open House and Field Day at the JCC of the North Shore on Sunday, Oct. 16, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Glaser will be answering questions about his book and its inspiring message and chatting with teens. He’s being honored by the JCC for his contributions to television, film, literature, and AIDS research.

"Chrystallia and the Source of Light" tells the story of a young brother and sister whose mother is dying. They travel to a mythical crystal kingdom and meet characters made entirely of minerals and light. It is in Chrystallia where they learn how fear can power us toward healing and strength.

The story mirrors Glaser’s own personal challenges. His wife and daughter died of AIDS after receiving a tainted blood transfusion.

Stop by the JCC of the North Shore – 4 Community Road, Marblehead – to meet Glaser and hear his story.
