Marblehead Arts Association to celebrate 90 years with bash Sept. 29
The following was submitted by the Marblehead Arts Association:
Back in the days when the decadent Roaring Twenties were in full bloom, when flappers and their men embraced modern advances brought about after the First World War as well as all manner of arts, entertainment and social causes, a small group of Marblehead artists gathered in 1922 to form the Marblehead Arts Association (MAA).
Ninety years later, the MAA, in its home at 8 Hooper Street, remains a testimonial to the dedication and love of art of many artists and patrons … and the reason the Marblehead Arts Association is celebrating on Saturday evening, September 29, with a Gala 90th Anniversary Bash.
The event will be held at Abbot Hall, 188 Washington Street, from 8 until 11 pm and will feature swingin’ food, refreshing libations and big band tunes. Creative 1920s attire and masks are encouraged, and don’t forget your dancing shoes!
Invitations are on their way, so save the date. For questions, contact Deborah Greel at deborahg@marbleheadarts.org.
