Local animal rescue groups are hosting a fundraiser to support the furry friends without homes on the North Shore, with a variety of prizes in store for those who stop by and support the cause.
The event will be held on Saturday March 2 from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at Chetís Video on Pleasant Street.
Special attractions will include face painting from noon until 2:00 p.m. and the famous "Jacob The Balloon Kid" from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Attendees have the chance to win a variety of prizes such as a Blu-Ray DVD player, a beauty basket, a pet loverís basket, and cat goodies basket.
The fundraiser will be hosted by volunteer groups from the North Shore, which include Shore Friends of Beverly Animals (FOBA), Friends of Lynn Saugus Animals (FOLSA), and Friends of Marblehead Abandoned Animals (FOMAA).
The non-profit, all-volunteer groups work to aid animals, and the community, on the North Shore by providing and assisting with medical fees, feeding, fostering, sheltering, and neutering.
Volunteers from the shelter and rescue groups will also be to discuss ways to adopt, rescue and foster animals. Lots of information and refreshments will be served.
