The following was submitted by the Marblehead Garden Club:

The Marblehead Garden Club founded in 1927, will hold its 82nd Annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 11, 2013.  This year our venue has changed and we have moved to The Gerry 5 VFA, 210 Beacon Street in Marblehead. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

The Plant Sale is the oldest, continuously running plant sale in Marblehead.
Plants from the Jeremiah Lee Mansion’s gardens as well as those from members’ gardens will be available.  Selections include wildflowers, perennials, annuals, herbs, rock garden plants and ground cover plants. Garden Club members are on hand to answer questions and provide gardening tips.  Admission to the plant sale is free of charge.  The Gerry 5 VFA is handicapped accessible.

Proceeds of the plant sale assist in the cost of maintaining the organic gardens at the Jeremiah Lee Mansion. The Marblehead Garden Club and the Marblehead Museum and Historical Society have worked cooperatively since 1936.
