The Church of the Holy Spirit in Mattapan is holding its 125th year Celebration "Gospel Explosion" Sept. 17. The program will feature musicians Bullock Brothers, CHS Sacred Dance Ministry and Carl Smith. Tickets are $25 at the door and the event starts at 5p.m.

“This a way for us to say thank you to the community that has supported us for 125 years,” Sonia Alleyne, Chair of the "Gospel Explosion" Committee.

Sonia also mentioned that along with music, dancing and fun, the event is a great way for neighbors to meet each other and be involved in the community.

“It’s a great way to say to reach our neighbors and help bridge the differences in the community. It brings people of all faiths together through the common theme of music,” she said.
