The third in a series of community breakfasts for Mattapan residents will be held Wednesday morning at the Mattapan Public Library.
The breakfasts work to bring together residents and businesses from across Mattapan to address neighborhood wide issues, as well as share resources and create a cohesive plan for the neighborhood.
“It’s about collaboration and coordination within Mattapan,” said Representative Linda Dorcena Forry, the organizer of the breakfast series. “Sometimes folk aren’t aware of what is going on in one part of the neighborhood and this [breakfast] is a place where we can talk about the issues and bring all the players together.”
Wednesday’s breakfast has a full agenda, here will be a presentation by Jim Hunt, chief of environment and energy for the city, who will discuss the “greening of Mattapan”.
Representatives with the Fairmont Collaborative Greenway Project will also be on hand to update the community about their work to create green space along the Fairmount Commuter Rail Line.
Wednesday’s breakfast will be held from 7:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. at the Mattapan Public Library located at 1350 Blue Hill Ave.
