With the completion of the Neponset River Trail on the horizon, backers of the project are looking to familiarize area residents with the path.
A tour of one of the yet-to-be-completed sections of the trail, sponsored by Boston Natural Areas Network and the Neponset River Greenway Council, will be held Wednesday to help neighbors develop an idea of what the green space will look like and the possible benefits it will bring.
The walk, which will concentrate on the missing Mattapan/Milton section of the trail, will begin at the Central Avenue T Stop in Milton at 5:30 p.m. and is expected to run till 7 p.m.

In June it was announced that funds to design and build the missing sections of the trail in Dorchester, Mattapan/Milton, and Hyde Park had been secured.
The trail, once completed, will stretch from Hyde Park to Dorchester and will connect to both the Blue Hills Reservation and the Boston Harborwalk.
