Free tickets are available for next month’s community dinner, being planned by Medford School Food Services and Tufts University students.
The event is part of the state’s Farm to School Program, which aims to educate families about good nutrition. Fruits and vegetables grown on Bay State farms will be served at the dinner, to be held at 5:30 p.m. on June 11 at Andrews Middle School.
Guest speakers will talk to parents about the value of supporting locally grown produce. Kids can try their hand at organic farming by planting lettuce seeds in milk cartons.
