Medford teen shares in BC High robotics team success
Members of the Boston College High School robotics team, including Medford senior Nicholas Memme, took home two honors at a March robotics competition.
A Medford teen was among a team of Boston College High School students who shared two prizes at a regional robotics competition in March.
Nicholas Memme, a BC High senior, was among the team of 14 who designed ROOK, a robot that competed in the FIRST Robotics Competition held at Boston University.
"ROOK and the boys did great." said Mark Pumphrey, a faculty adviser to the team. "The team won the award for the highest seeded rookie team and for creativity for the innovative design of the drive system."
The robot was so named because like a rook on a chess board, it can move laterally.
